However you identify, we’re here for you. We’re here to fight for mental health and support all LGBTQ+ communities. Not just during Pride month, but all year round.

While this topic is fresh in your mind though, we thought we would share some of the ways we are making progress at Andover Mind to be more inclusive..

Research: We have been working with an Advancing Mental Health Equalities (AMHE) researcher for the past seven months and are now in the process of applying their recommendations on how we can better support the needs of the LGBTQ+ community in Hampshire.  We will be communicating these exciting findings with you over the next coming months.

Staff training: We’ve been working with Breakout Youth to deliver LGBTQ+ training sessions for our staff, providing us with better knowledge and an improved understanding to support colleagues and service users. We have also added additional opportunities to learn about equality, diversity and including through our in-house training platform including unconscious bias and recognising privilege.

Inclusive recruitment: We have updated our inclusion statement on our job adverts for all vacancies

Communications: We are currently updating sections of our website to make it more inclusive and will be adding signage to our wellbeing centres in the coming months. We have updated our email signatures below and have added EDI and LGBTQ+ content to our social media schedule.

Policies: We will be working on our EDI policy and statement to update this following on from our research and feedback from our staff and service users.

Have your say.

If this subject is important to you, we’d love to know your thoughts and feelings on how we can improve what we are already doing. To find our more about how to get involved you can give your feedback through our influence and participation programme With You In Mind, or you can email us enquiries@andovermind.org.uk
