Our management team
Ed Simpson
CEO
Ed is the new Chief Executive of Andover Mind and brings over a decade of experience leading charities through growth and change. Before joining Andover Mind, he worked with organisations across youth mental health, human rights, and community development—helping build resilient teams and sustainable impact.
Originally from Hampshire and now living in Odiham with his wife and two children, Ed is passionate about making sure everyone has access to the right support at the right time. He’s especially committed to trauma-informed, inclusive leadership and to ensuring Andover Mind continues to put lived experience at the heart of its work.
Before moving into leadership, Ed began his career in the arts and education sectors, where he developed a deep appreciation for creativity and connection as drivers of wellbeing.
Outside of work, you’ll find him swimming, coding, or upcycling old computers—and occasionally fixing things that probably didn’t need fixing in the first place.
For Ed, Andover Mind represents the best of Hampshire: people looking out for one another, building hope, and helping communities thrive.
Kirsten Hill
Head of finance and resources
Kirsten joined Andover Mind in January 2026 as Head of Finance and Resources, responsible for the day-to-day management of the financial and business services functions. She is a qualified accountant who made a deliberate move into the charity sector a few years ago to be part of something "bigger" than just numbers and spreadsheets and takes genuine satisfaction in supporting others and contributing to work that makes a meaningful difference to people’s lives.
Sammie Burton
Head of Services
After studying Psychology at the University of Surrey, I began my career within CAMHS, where I worked across a variety of roles over several years. During this time, I specialised within the neurodevelopmental pathway and led on our Routine Outcome Measures project, developing a strong passion for accessible, evidence-informed mental health support.
Alongside my role in CAMHS, I joined the North and Mid Hampshire Safe Haven service at Andover Mind as a second job while saving for my upcoming wedding and first home. It was there that my passion for Andover Mind truly began, thanks to the incredible team and leadership I worked alongside at the time.
Following the purchase of my first home (and the addition of a very energetic puppy!), I moved fully into a daytime management role within Andover Mind, saying goodbye to my CAMHS colleagues and beginning a new chapter within the charity. I later progressed into an Operations Manager role before becoming Head of Services in October 2025.
I am passionate about ensuring mental health support remains accessible, equitable and sustainable, particularly within challenging economic environments. I am also deeply committed to staff wellbeing and creating a workplace culture where people feel valued, supported and proud to work for Andover Mind.
