Andover Mind will be attending the Unity Youth family days taking place during August 2023, providing mindful activities for all the family.
The summer holidays can be a difficult time for younger people, without the structure of school or seeing their friends everyday, their mental health and wellbeing can often suffer.
Unity Youth are hosting 3 free events for families to enjoy throughout August in various parts of Andover; Picket Twenty, Picket Piece and Augusta Park, offering games, crafts, and other activities designed to bring families together.
Unity Youth are a service that aims to help young people in Test Valley have a voice in their local community. The service also helps young people become vital members of the community through developing opportunities and activities.
The family days will be held on:
- Thursday 3 August 2023 at Picket Twenty Community Hall from 10am – 1pm
- Tuesday 15 August at Picket Piece Village Hall from 10am – 1pm
- Tuesday 22 August at Augusta Park Community Centre from 10am – 1pm
Andover Mind will be at all of the 3 events, providing family friendly activities based around mindfulness. Mental health and wellbeing are both so important for children and the whole family. We want to demonstrate the different ways in which you can incorporate mindfulness and wellbeing into your daily family life and the benefits of these practices.
One of the main benefits of mindfulness for families is it can improve communication. By practising mindfulness together, family members can learn to listen to each other more deeply and express themselves more clearly. This can lead to fewer misunderstandings and conflicts, and ultimately strengthen family relationships.
Mindfulness can also help families better manage stress. By learning to be more present in the moment and less reactive to external stressors, family members can better cope with the demands of daily life. This can help reduce tension and create a more peaceful home environment.
So, why not come and visit us at one of Unity’s family fun days to learn more?
