We’re celebrating Trustees Week and here at Andover Mind HQ we thought it would be a good opportunity to introduce you to some of the trustees that help govern our charity.
The theme this year is making a difference in changing times; as our external environment continues to change, we face new challenges. The positive impact trustees make at Andover Mind is invaluable to our organisation that is now as important as ever to benefit society.

Lara Pletcher has worked in human resources for over 20 years and is an HR Director for an SME based in Salisbury, covering the Europe, the Middle East and Africa region. She was appointed as a Trustee for Andover Mind in January 2022 and is part of the finance and risk committee. Lara is a trained reflexologist and enjoys all kinds of activities that promote wellbeing such as yoga, running and journalling.
What attracted you to the opportunity of being a trustee for Andover Mind?
I have always been interested in mental health and wellbeing and wanted to be able to give something back to support an organisation with my skills.
What do you like the most about being a trustee for Andover Mind?
Being able to use my skills to support an organisation and work with a great team of people (the other trustees).
What do you bring to the role of trustee?
My background in human resources gives me an excellent insight into the operational and recruitment challenges that Andover Mind face.
Do you have lived experience?
I went through a period of being very anxious and had some counselling to help me through this.
What do you do to take care of your own mental health?
Lots of self-care, regular yoga, sound baths, runs, dog walks, get out in fresh air, good planner – so it’s written down, not in my mind
