Today is Random Acts of Kindness Day (17 February) and we asked Andover Mind staff to share their random acts of kindness stories with us, stories that have stuck in their minds and in their hearts. Here’s what they said

“When visiting a friend in her new house, and totally unexpectedly, she presented me with a new mug, with the words “you got this” on it. I asked her why, as she was the one in the new house and I’d got her a housewarming gift, and she said she saw it and thought of me. She wanted me to have a reminder whenever I have any self-doubt that I really have ‘got this’. It made me smile and does every time I make my morning cup of tea using it!” ☕️🏡

“For me, a random act of kindness was a neighbour buying me a new outside door mat when their dog had an “accident” on it, even though I said it would dry and they did not need to. They saw it outside my door, days later, took it away and replaced it with the new one.” 🐶🤗

“A service user gave me a Christmas card, some lovely bubble bath and an amazon voucher. The card read: Merry Christmas, I just wanted to give you a little extra as a thank you for all the support and all the kind words we have shared. You have been a huge source of strength for me over the last year. So please accept this holiday gift.” 🛁🎄

Whatever you do today, make it something kind 💙
