National safeguarding adults week 2023 runs from Monday 20 – Friday 24 November 2023.
The theme for safeguarding adults week 2023 is ‘safeguarding yourself and others’. The national week, via Ann Craft Trust, is an opportunity for organisations to come together to raise awareness of important safeguarding issues. The aim is to highlight key safeguarding key issues, start conversations and raise awareness of safeguarding best practice.

Who are our safeguarding team at Andover Mind?
Our safeguarding lead is Laura Mouzouris-Lodge, head of county-wide services and Sarah Oakley is the safeguarding lead for the Board of Trustees. Ultimately, safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility and the role of the safeguarding lead is to provide support to the team on any safeguarding issues. The lead identifies training and development opportunities, shares good practice and advises the senior leadership team and the board on any safeguarding matters.

“We aim to prevent harm and reduce the risk of abuse or neglect to adults with care and support needs and we hope to raise public awareness so that professionals, other staff and communities as a whole play their part in preventing, identifying and responding to abuse and neglect.
We want to safeguard individuals in a way that supports them in making choices and having control in how they choose to live their lives, also known as ‘making safeguarding personal’. It is important we promote an outcomes approach, in safeguarding, that works for people resulting in the best experience possible.”
