Our Garden for Mind, on the Leckford Estate, grows a plethora of produce; from tomatoes to pumpkins, runner beans to apples. As part of our commitment to being a community garden, we have donated some of our produce to Andover Sustainable Food Partnership and Andover Community Engage (ACE).

The Andover Sustainable Food Partnership (AFP) develops working partnerships to create a holistic vision where every organisation puts sustainability, localism and community at the heart of their approach. AFP unites organisations from across sectors and the food system, including catering, procurement and community gardens.

On 20 September, our Be You team lead Daniel Dukes dropped off some runner beans to ACE and our volunteer (and mastermind behind our Garden for Mind), Libby Hilling, bought in 2 bags of beans, green tomatoes and 4 squashes from the garden. These were then taken round to ACE (which just happens to be round the corner from our Andover wellbeing centre!)

Libby said of the partnership, “It’s our first growing season, so it’s early days, but we look forward to continuing to support the local community.”
