Job description

Person specification

Our well-being centres in Basingstoke and Aldershot provide a range of services to support individuals with mental health problems. In addition to supporting people in their recovery from serious mental health problems, we also provide advice and information services to help prevent the onset of mental health conditions. The services we provide are personalised and individuals are supported to develop their own interests in the community.

We are looking for caring, committed, empathetic, hard working team players to join us and to contribute to making a real difference as part of our Basingstoke and Aldershot well-being team.

Well-being Coaches (x4)

The role of a Well-being Coach is to assess individuals with their mental health and well-being using a strength-based approach to identify and outline with the service user on areas in which they require support. A Well-being Coach supports service users in their recovery through low and high-intensity support structures in conjunction with the recovery star plan and care plans, by providing 1 to 1 and group support.

Job description

Person specification

Peer Workers (x2)

Through sharing wisdom from their own lived experience of mental health problems, the Peer Worker will inspire hope and belief that recovery is possible.  As an integral and highly-valued member of the team, the Peer Worker will build feelings of empowerment, self-esteem and confidence and enable people to regain control of their lives and their own unique recovery process. Peer support is a strengths-based approach which starts with what’s strong, not with what’s wrong, recognising the individual as a whole person rather than only focusing on the problem. This creates a relationship which is forward looking and solution focused, and one which generates hope, all the time promoting resilience and a strengthened ability to cope with difficulty. This is explicitly a non-clinical role which does not involve treatment, assessment or evaluation.

Location:  Aldershot

1 x part time post (22.5 hours, working pattern to be discussed at interview)

1 x part time post maternity cover (18.5 hours, fixed term contact until 31 March 2020, working pattern to be discussed at interview)
