What is Ugly Duckling?

We recycle and upcycle donated furniture, make new stuff  such as garden furniture, bird, bat and hedgehog boxes from donated wood and also take on customer commissions. We provide work experience, social networks, and occupation and training opportunities for disadvantaged people as well as offering volunteering opportunities which are open to everyone. The project operates from a workshop in East Portway, Andover and is currently open 3 days a week.  If you’d like to see for yourself what we do, the workshop is open to the public on Thursdays from 9.30 till 2.30pm. You can also check out our pop-up shop in The Chantry Centre which is open on Thursday to Saturday – 10am till 2pm.

Who is the project open to?

Ugly Duckling is open to service users of Andover Mind as well as other community groups. We also have volunteering opportunities available to local people, meaning different sections of the community can work side by side to address a local problem.

We are always looking for donations of furniture that we can upcycle or wood that we can make into new products. Please call us if think you have something which we could use.

I’m interested…what do I do now?
