As one of Hampshire’s leading Mental Health Charities, Andover Mind is entering an exciting phase of growth to meet the needs of our communities around mental health and well-being support associated with the Community NHS Transformation Programme.

The mental health and well-being of the communities across Hampshire is our top priority and we are looking for a Well-being Practitioner to join our established Primary Care Team in Andover.  Primary Care Networks (PCNs) are groups of GP practices who work together in a local geographical area and over the last 18 months, we have been working with the NHS to improve the local mental health services within GP surgeries in our region.

The overall purpose of this role will be to directly assess and triage patients from Andover surgeries who are referred into the Andover Primary Care Mental Health service.  You will also provide short-term recovery-focussed intervention to patients on ways they can manage and improve their mental health through teaching them coping skills, using resources and referring into other services when appropriate.

Work is carried out in the community and in GP surgeries. This is a non-clinical role which promotes self help and works as an integral part of a new Primary Care Mental Health Service.  You will be working in a multi-disciplinary team alongside other professionals such as; Peer Practitioners, psychological therapists, social prescribers and a dedicated GP Lead.

Hours will be mainly worked in GP surgeries located within the Andover area, the PCN offices in the Chantry Centre in Andover or at Andover Wellbeing Centre, although there may be some opportunities for home working.

We offer ongoing training and development to all staff and 27 days holiday entitlement rising to 30 days after 3 full years service.

Hours: 15 hours per week  – Flexible but must include a Thursday 3pm to 5pm.

Salary: £12.00 per hour
