In this edition of the newsletter I would like to share with you some of our highlights and successes over the past year…
We began our exciting work within GP practices supporting people at the earliest opportunity, ensuring they receive the right service at the right time. This included work in GP hubs across Andover, Winchester and Romsey. The scope of the service has now developed into Basingstoke, covering a number of practices as part of the primary care network. We have received excellent feedback from both patients and GP’s.
In September 2019 we received the excellent news that we were to be awarded with the Hampshire Carer and Dementia advice contract across Hampshire, building on our expertise in delivering Hampshire advice since 2019.
In addition to this, throughout 2019, we continued the development of our services with children and young people through our Springboard project, delivering resilience building sessions within the primary school setting and our Youth Counselling service.
As we begin 2020 we are looking forward to developing our services and projects, this will include…
Working with primary care networks with the launch of a new primary level mental health service, based in Andover GP practices. In the north of the county we will be kicking up our work with Fleet Medical Practice and in Aldershot and Farnborough.
We also have plans for setting up new Well-being hubs in Farnborough, as well as developing our resource in Fleet.
We will continue to develop our training programme and deliver more mental health training to the wider public, employers and community groups through our Connect 5 service.
We will also be seeking new funding to assist the development of our buildings to support facilities for both counselling and group rooms.
Finally, we will continue to develop our Ugly Duckling project to ensure that growth enables a sustainable future.
I look forward to sharing all of our news and updates in each edition of our newsletter and hope to keep you both informed and interested in Andover Mind and the services we support and provide.
