We are always looking for general volunteers to work across our range of projects but we are also currently looking to fill the following specific vacancies:

Trustees

We are looking for volunteers to join our Executive Committee to ensure the effective management of Andover Mind.

What you could be doing:

  • helping to steer the direction of the charity
  • taking part in committees or sub groups
  • attending meetings

Location: Trustee meetings are held  in Andover, every 6 weeks on a Monday at 4 pm.

Ugly Duckling volunteers

We are looking for volunteers to join our furniture renovation and upcycling project. There are a variety of roles available and this may interest people with DIY or sewing skills or an interest in interior design and upcycling.

What you could be doing:

  • sanding, varnishing, painting donated furniture
  • making new items from donated wood
  • reupholstering donated furniture
  • helping with fundraising and promoting the project in the local community

Location: Andover

Dementia advice service

We are looking for volunteers to join our dementia advice services across Hampshire to assist our dementia advisers. The service provides advice and information  for people with dementia, their carers and families.

Ideally, for both vacancies, you will need to:

  • be friendly, cheerful, reliable, trustworthy and honest
  • be able to demonstrate an empathetic attitude
  • have an understanding of the need for client confidentiality
  • have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • be a team worker
  • have basic IT Skills

Dementia advice service outreach volunteer

What you could be doing:

  • visiting people with dementia, their carers, families and friends to listen and provide a social element
  • acting as a liaison link for people to access the Dementia Advice Service
  • helping with events and visiting local groups
  • handling telephone calls from service users, families, carers and partner organisations in a sympathetic and efficient manner
  • assisting the Dementia Adviser with promoting the service

Flexible hours available over Monday to Friday between the hours of 9am and 5pm.

Locations: Test Valley, Basingstoke, Hart Rushmoor, Winchester and Eastleigh

Dementia advice administrator volunteer

What you could be doing:

  • undertaking general administrative duties, including answering the telephones, ensuring files and records are kept up to date and archiving of documents
  • inputting and updating referrals on our database. Full training will be provided
  • assisting the Dementia Adviser, as required, with promoting the service including collating information packs, producing posters, leaflets and publicity material

Flexible hours available over Monday to Friday between the hours of 9am and 5pm.

Locations: Test Valley, Basingstoke, Hart Rushmoor, Winchester and Eastleigh
