Why, What and How Much!!
Over recent years, where our major funding has been reduced and costs continue to rise, we have had to find around 30% of our running costs by means of our charity shop, additional grants, business support, donations, Gift Aid and fundraising; this could be in excess of £100,000.
We have to compete with the many other local charities as well as national charities, so have to find ever more inventive ways of raising funds, but this must go hand in hand with raising awareness of mental health issues.
As well as finding funds for new projects, and that could include premises, resources and staff training, we need to increase our core funding for the every day running of the charity. Upkeep of drains, maintenance of our vehicles (minibus and furniture van) and replacement of equipment such as our dishwasher are not glamorous things to fund raise for, but are just as vital a part of the fabric of the charity.
Gift Aid
Gift Aid is a scheme which allows us to reclaim, from the Inland Revenue, 28 pence in every £ you donate to us. That means a £10 donation from you is actually worth £12.80 to us.
If you want to make your donations go further, all you have to do is sign a Gift Aid Declaration. You can sign one today and it will cover any donations you make in the future. It does not cost you anything.
