Andover’s first Repair Café was launched on Saturday 22nd July at Andover Mind’s well-being centre in Westbrook Close and it got off to a busy start.

At the Repair Café volunteers work with people who bring items to repair, to share their knowledge and help them learn new skills and gain confidence in repairing their own things. The volunteer fixers were able to repair most of the things the public brought in on the morning including a vacuum cleaner, a lamp, a laptop, a radio and 2 clocks.

Coffee, cake and socialising are also part of the Repair Café ethos and there was a great atmosphere at the launch with many people making new connections.

The Repair Café will be held monthly on the 3rd Saturday of the month from 10am - 1.30pm and we will have fixers who can help with bikes, sewing jobs, electrical and furniture repairs. We encourage people to come along with things to fix or just to find out what it’s all about.

Future 2017 dates for Repair Cafés are:

  • September 16th
  • October 21st
  • November 18th
  • December 16th (TBC)
