Welcome to Andover Mind, your local mental health charity
"1 in 4 people will suffer from mental ill-health at some time in their life. Yet many people feel ashamed or embarrassed to talk about it.
At Andover Mind, we are passionate about breaking down the stigma and helping people with mental ill-health to be a part of their local community"
Debra Ramchurn - Services Manager
Andover Mind supports people of age 18 to 65 and above, who experience mental ill-health. We work with people on an individual basis, both in our Resource Centre and out in the wider community.
Andover Mind’s goal is to enable each person to:-
- Find and maintain hope
- Take responsibility and control
- Achieve their potential
- Participate in society
- Build a meaningful life
We try to focus on improving quality of life, not on illness and deficiency.
In this way we try to show that making a recovery is a reality.
“I have taken ownership of my illness and take responsibility for what I do and don't do. I don’t let it control me………It’s not the whole of my life, it’s just part of my life now…”
